Choosing your starting point 

CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy)

CBT helps you become aware of how your thoughts influence your feelings and behaviours. Together, we learn to identify unhelpful thinking patterns and gently reframe them, allowing for more balanced emotional responses and actions.

I find that CBT offers clients clarity and practical strategies — especially when feeling overwhelmed, stuck in loops of self-doubt, or caught in anxious thought patterns.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based approach used to help people heal from trauma, distressing memories, or overwhelming emotions. It supports the brain’s natural ability to process and integrate experiences, reducing the emotional charge associated with painful memories.

EMDR creates noticeable shifts for clients carrying deep emotional pain. It’s especially helpful for grief, early losses, or trauma that feels “stuck.”

REBT (Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy)

REBT focuses on identifying irrational beliefs that can lead to unhealthy emotional responses. Through guided reflection and dialogue, clients learn to dispute these beliefs and replace them with more helpful, compassionate alternatives.

REBT empowers clients to challenge harsh inner narratives and connect with healthier, more self-affirming beliefs — especially when struggling with guilt, shame, or perfectionism.

At Soul & Story, I provide compassionate, evidence-based support for children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in helping clients who are looking to work through past or present challenges, deepen self-understanding and build meaningful relationships.
