Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect in the first session?
The first session is a space to get to know one another. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, your hopes or concerns, and whether we're the right fit. I’ll also explain how I work, answer any questions, and begin creating a safe and supportive environment for your story to unfold.
When will I see the results?
Some clients start to feel relief within just a few session, while others, the process is more gradual. Therapy isn't one-size-fits-all. We will work at a pace that feels right for you and while we do that I will be here to support you through the entire journey.
Do you work with children and teens?
Yes. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, tailoring my approach to suit each individual’s age, needs, and developmental stage. For younger children, I may incorporate emotion-focused conversations, creative tools, or caregiver collaboration where appropriate
What are your fees, and do you offer a sliding scale?
My standard session fee is available upon request. A limited number of sliding scale spots may be considered based on individual need and availability. This can be discussed during your initial consultation.
How long are therapy sessions?
Each standard session is 60 minutes long. The frequency of sessions depends on your needs and will be discussed collaboratively
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged the full session fee. Exceptions may be considered for emergencies.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is very important to me. Everything you share in therapy is confidential, except in cases where I am legally required to report risk of harm to yourself or others, or in situations involving child protection.
Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?
Yes —online therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for many mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and stress. What matters most is the relationship between the therapist and client, the quality of the therapeutic approach, and your comfort with the format.
